Process Analytical, or Mining mode. Uses very similar hardware and software settings as regular analytical mode, including the FP quantitation algorithm, giving an output in % composition. In addition, process analytical allows for the use of empirical correction factors to compensate for different matrices. That is, the output from the FP algorithm for any given element can be adjusted based on data from standards or reference materials of known composition. This mode is used for minerals and substrates having higher concentrations of heavy elements.
